Alfa Romeo Giulia - At a glance car review
Make: Alfa Romeo
Alfa Romeo returns to the compact executive market with a stylish and characterful new saloon. A choice of 150hp and 180hp diesels are the main company car alternatives, and both get under 110g/km. All come with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, and Alfa Romeo has gone big on the standard safety equipment, reflected in the excellent Euro NCAP crash test score.
The Giulia looks stunning and has plenty of character inside and out. The cabin is distinctively Italian, and the Giulia handles like the sporty saloon is looks like it is.
Running costs can’t quite match the bets the German manufactures can offer, and the infotainment system isn’t class leading.
Audi A4, BMW 3-series, Jaguar XE, Mercedes C-class
Lexus IS, VW Passat
Great addition to the executive saloon segment, the Alfa Romeo Giulia isn’t perfect but delivers above expectations.
