Company Van Today Editor Tom Webster has been named Commercial Vehicle Writer of the Year in the Newspress Awards, the biggest automotive journalism awards in the UK.
Webster has been editing Company Van Today since its launch in April 2017, with the quarterly light commercial vehicle title successfully securing itself as a key publication under his stewardship.
Held at Quaglino’s in London last night, the event was compered by Roger Tilling, the voice of University Challenge, and Company Car Today and its writers were shortlisted in nine categories, with Webster picking up the trophy in the Commercial Vehicle category.
“Tom has established himself as a leading light commercial vehicle journalist over the past two years, enthusiastically throwing himself into this specialist and complex sector with aplomb,” said Company Van Today Editorial Director Paul Barker. “This award is a reflection of Tom’s expertise and skill, and richly deserved.”
“I’m absolutely thrilled to have been named ‘Commercial Vehicle Writer of the Year’ at the 2019 Newspress Awards,” said Webster (pictured right). “The awards are always keenly fought and there were some very talented journalists shortlisted so to be selected as the winner by a team of independent judges is particularly special.”
