Company Car Today will be taking to the track later this month, participating in a Le Mans 24-hour event where pedal power rather than horsepower is key.
We have entered a team in the 24-hour Velo event at the iconic Le Mans circuit in France, joining 519 other entries from across Europe and beyond, and we’re raising money in aid of automotive industry charity Ben – Motor and allied trades benevolent fund, and the excellent work it does for anyone connected to the automotive sector.Kindly supported by Toyota, the team consisting of CCT Editor Paul Barker, Publishing Director Dave Wallace and contributors David Motton and Al Suttie will set off in shifts at 3pm on Saturday 25 August, hoping to cover at last 150 laps of the 2.5-mile track before the chequered flag drops 24 hours later.
One lucky person sponsoring us will win a 12-inch cuddly polar bear, with the winner to be chosen at random after the event. To support CCT and Ben, go to our Just Giving fundraising page HERE. Every penny counts and all donations will help to support the fantastic work undertaken by the Ben to support those in need within the automotive industry.
You can also follow our progress on the day through our Twitter feed via @companycartoday or our Company Car Today Facebook page for updates across the evet itself on the bank holiday weekend.
We’d also like to thank DFDS for ferrying us across the channel and home again, and Volkswagen for the loan of a Transport California that will act as bike carrier, base vehicle and bed.
