Renault reveals new coupe-SUV
Renault has confirmed that it will add a new coupe-SUV model to its range, with the Arkana to include hybrid and mild-hybrid powertrain arrives in the UK in September 2021.
The new model will come into the range above the Captur and Kadjur models in the French brand’s line-up, measuring more than 200mm longer than the Kadjar crossover, although it is more than 40mm lower thanks to its coupe-like profile. Boot space is also 41 litres larger than the Kadjar at 513 litres.
Powertrains will include a 140hp hybrid that combines a 1.6-litre petrol engine and two electric motors, as seen on the Clio Hybrid that launches in the coming weeks. Order books open next July.
Performance ST model added to new Ford Puma range
Ford has confirmed that it is to add an ST-branded performance model to its new Puma small crossover range, with the 200hp model priced from £28,495 and available to order now.
Capable of 0-62mph acceleration in 6.7 seconds, the Puma ST is claimed to have steering response 25% faster and brakes 17% larger than the standard Puma, while the chassis and tyres are among other areas modified on the performance version.
Emissions sit at 155g/km and fuel economy 40.9mpg, with the 1.5-litre petrol engine fitted with cylinder deactivation to help cut emissions.
High-performance 508 PHEV launches new Peugeot Sport Engineered branding
A new high-performance Peugeot Sport Engineered division has been launched by the French brand, kicking off with the company’s most powerful road car in its history.
Despite offering 360hp and a 0-62mph time of 5.2 seconds, the four-wheel drive 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered model, available in fastback and SW estate bodystyles, emits from 46g/km due to its plug-in hybrid powertrain that offers an electric-only range of 26 miles.
Pricing is still to be confirmed, with the car expected in the UK in the first half of 2021.
