Fleets of fancy

Range Rover SV Autobiography Dynamic

Why should I want it?

This is the Range Rover designed for people who want the ultimate combination of performance and luxury. It’s available in diesel or hybrid forms as well as this 550hp 5.0-litre V8. And if it isn’t roomy enough, you can have the LWB version for an additional £25k

Why can’t I have it?

Erm, it’s more than £50,000 more than the ‘entry’ Range Rover. The ultimate in luxury and performance doesn’t come cheap. Plus there’s the painful little matter of an official 22.1mpg.

Arguments to use on the fleet manager

Oil barons have children to feed? But seriously, that whole luxury performance thing is completely appropriate. It absolutely flies. Stopping 2.5t of bulk is more of a challenge, but it’s practical, sumptuous, and clients will love it when you drive them to lunch.

A more sensible alternative

A diesel Volkswagen Touareg R-line can be had for almost a third of this top-spec Range Rover’s price. It’s also practical, looks good, and shaves just the 119g/km off the Rangie’s emissions figure.
