Former Mercedes fleet boss Rob East has been named as BMW’s new general manager for corporate sales.
He replaces Steve Oliver who left the German brand last April.
East will lead the team responsible for all BMW and Mini sales to business and leasing customers.
He said: “Corporate sales are essential to our success so ensuring we give the best service to our business and leasing customers is going to be my focus. It’s also an exciting time to be joining the team with the growing range models offering an even wider choice for fleets. I look forward to strengthening our position in the corporate sector and attracting new business customers to the BMW and Mini brands.”
East left Mercedes in September 2018, however, a replacement has not been named at this stage.
A Mercedes spokesman confirmed to Company Car Today that a replacement has been recruited, but the spokesman did not indicate when the new fleet boss would be named publicly.
Audi fleet boss Tom Brennan left the company in November and has not announced his next role at this stage.
Should Brennan move to Mercedes, it would compete a merry-go-round of moves among the three German brands in the UK as former BMW PR boss Gavin Ward joined Audi in October as its new head of press and PR, replacing Jon Zammett, who retired in June 2018.
