Audi shows off EV concept
Audi has revealed a concept version of its third electric vehicle, a four-door coupe, at the LA motor show.
The production version of the e-Tron GT is due to be built from late-2020 with deliveries from early 2021. It will follow its e-Tron sportback and SUV models.
According to Audi, the concept is fitted with a 590hp motor that travel for at least 248 miles between recharges. Audi also said the concept has been fitted with an 800-volt charging system meaning it can take 20 minutes to recharge the battery to 80% capacity.
Skoda shows off Scala interior
Skoda has released its first image of the interior of its Scala hatchback.
The Czech firm is due to unveil the Ford Focus rival for the first time next week and said the new model will be the first vehicle to feature a new interior design strategy.
Skoda claimed the model has the largest infotainment screen size in its class at 9.2-inches which has been designed to be positioned in both the driver and front passenger’s line of sight.
Norbert Weber, head of interior design at Skoda, said: “The new Skoda Scala is the first production model to feature our new interior concept, introducing an updated design language alongside new colours and materials. Its premiere in the Scala marks the beginning of a new brand identity for Skoda, which is as emotive as it is functional.”
Citroen names new business boss
Ed Hickin has been named Citroen’s new head of business sales.
Hickin, currently head of commercial actions at the firm, will succeed Kristian Cholmondeley who moves to DS Automobiles UK as head of marketing communications, when he starts his role on 3 December.
“The Citroen Business Centre Network will play a vital role in the sales success of products such as the C5 Aircross SUV, new C4 Cactus hatch and new Berlingo with local fleet operators and SMEs. With so many business-friendly products in the Citroen range now, 2019 is set to be a hugely successful year for business sales,” he said.
