Jaguar E-Pace gains tax-dodging diesel
Jaguar has added its tax-dodging RDE2-compliant diesel engine to its E-Pace crossover as part of a series of revisions.
The addition of the D150 FWD Manual to the range means drivers can make a first year VED saving of £320 and a reduction of Benefit In Kind taxation by 4% as RDE2-compliant diesels are not subject to the levy placed on most diesels.
Jaguar has also added a Chequered Flag addition to the line-up. It features a panoramic roof, heated steering wheel and a 12.3-inch screen alongside design enhancements such as an R-Dynamic branded steering wheel and black aluminium gearshift paddles.
The exterior includes body-coloured bumpers, twin tailpipes and LED headlamps, a powered tailgate and keyless entry.
Smoking dents used car values
Cars driven by heavy smokers can lose up to £2,000 when being sold on compared with vehicles owned or leased by non-smokers, automotive data giant Cap HPI said.
The company said that vehicles driven by smokers suffer from interior damage and often smell – something installing an air fresher won’t solve – while burns and stains further dent values, the firm said.
Fernando Garcia, consumer director at HPI, said: “Many of the tobacco smoke pollutants from cigarettes attach to surfaces and build up in the internal systems from where they can be released back into the air over days and weeks after smoking. Opening the windows to let the smoke out is not the answer.”
BCA signs deal with Motorline
Auction giant BCA has signed a two-year remarketing deal with vehicle retail group Motorline.
The deal means that 12,500 vehicles will be sold at its Paddock Wood site in Kent each year and will be pre-sale prepared and offered under the BCA Assured scheme with V5, and in many cases, a service history and warranted mileage.
