M6 Toll prices to rise

M6 Toll

Car and van drivers will be liable to pay higher prices when the new toll rates come into force on the M6 Toll road from 12 July, its operator, Midland Expressway, said.

According to the company, prices will rise between 10p and 30p for cars and between 10p and 50p for LCVs.

However, an off-peak fare is being introduced for drivers who travel between 5am and 7am and 7pm and 11pm during week days, in addition to the current ‘night and day’ toll structure.

Toyota adds to fleet team

Toyota fleet team

Toyota has appointed two regional public sector managers to its fleet team in order to increase the car maker’s presence among public sector fleets.

James Mackintosh and Hayley Kirby are covering the north and the south of the country respectively, increasing the support available to public sector fleet managers. They are able to explain all the details of hybrid-electric technology and the real-world benefits it can offer fleets who make the switch from conventionally powered vehicles, Toyota said.

Stuart Ferma, general manager of Toyota and Lexus fleet, said: “With Toyota now listed as a supplier on the major Government procurement frameworks and with more and more fleets seeking to adopt cleaner technologies, we recognised the value of putting a team in place to set out the benefits of hybrid-electric vehicles to the relevant public bodies, particularly those who are looking to change from diesel engines.”
