Volkswagen has teased a sketch of its eighth-generation Golf model ahead of its world premiere on 24 October.

The firm said the new model features more digitalisation and connectivity than ever before and is  “packed with innovations and is sporting a highly expressive design.”

“Its exterior design is more dynamic than ever before, and yet it is instantly recognisable as a Golf from all sides. On the inside, fresh colours and fabrics define the look of the new compact model, as well as a new digital cockpit,” the brand claimed.

Toyota has teased its new RAV4 Plug-in hybrid model.

Built on the same platform as the RAV4 Hybrid, the plug-in will add greater battery capacity to bring more EV range and more power for better acceleration, Toyota said.

The new RAV4 Plug-in will make its debut at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show on 20 November and UK sales will start in 2020, the firm added.

The North East Ambulance Service has added 12 new Skoda Kodiaqs to its emergency service fleet.

The SUVs will be in use 24/7 by its clinical care management team, who are responsible for more than 2.71 million people across the region.

As part of the fleet deal, the Kodiaq has been modified by Skoda UK to suit the NEAS’s needs: LED lights have been fitted around the front, top, sides and even on the number plate at the back of the large SUV, while the addition of LED lights on the inside aims help the team access equipment when attending an accident at night and the 2,005-litre capacity boot space (with the rear seats down), of the SUV has also been modified with a specially-designed compartment for life-saving gear.
