Skoda Kodiaq VRS

Skoda has confirmed its Kodiaq VRS SUV costs from £42,870 as the order books have opened ahead of the first deliveries of the model in the spring.

It is the firm’s most powerful SUV built to date; it is powered by the firm’s 240hp 2.0-litre diesel unit which returns 47.1mpg and emits 157g/km of CO2, although the vehicle was tested under the soon-to-be-replaced NEDC testing cycle.

Setting the VRS apart from the rest of the range, it features 20-inch alloy wheels, a gloss black finish on the grille and mirrors, dual exhaust pipes, sports bumpers and red brake calipers. Inside, it features Alcantara-trimmed sports along with a black rooflining and VRS stitching for the door panels.

Sprinter AWD

Mercedes-Benz Vans has confirmed a four-wheel drive version of its Sprinter van will cost from £37,540 excluding VAT when it arrives in the UK in March.

The AWD system is turned on and off electro-hydraulically, enabling the system to be engaged (4×4) or disengaged (4×2) in vehicle speeds of up to 6 mph if conditions demand, Mercedes said.

In addition to a low range gear selection and Downhill Speed Regulation system, standard specification for the Sprinter AWD above a standard 4×2 Sprinter includes entrance grab handles on both front doors, hydraulic steering and mixed use mud and slush tyres.

Volkswagen has launched a fitness programme aimed at van drivers to complete on the road.

Launched in association with its fleet customer Pimlico Plumbers, the workout is designed to be used while inside a Transporter van using its loadbay and everyday tools that are stored in the vehicle.

“We want to encourage van drivers to get fit this New Year with our on-the-go workout that can be done anywhere drivers may find themselves with a spare five minutes. It’s all part of putting our customers first, and this unique programme could see Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Working out with You in 2019,” said Sarah Cox, head of marketing at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
